Over the past
30 years, Siemens’ HiPath DX has established a leading position
among private and public sector organisations in the UK and the

it is general knowledge that the development of the DX is coming to
an end over the next few years in favour of IP and SIP-based
systems, Siemens will continue to release further software updates
for the DX to enhance links and interworking to IP and SIP-based
applications which, in turn, eases the migration of DX users towards
IP and SIP architectures.

DX phone system at level 9 software or above is also capable of
supporting IP telephones and SIP trunks directly. This enables those
users to migrate their telephony onto an IP network without the need
to change out the entire system in one go – a perfect opportunity to
test the feasibility of VoIP as a stepping stone towards the full
upgrade of their voice communications.
